About

Gym Area 2
Black Diamond Physical Therapy is a group of providers recognized as leaders in the fields of sports injury management, orthopedic rehabilitation, clinical education, and research.

Our team places the patient at the center of care, focusing on accurate evaluation, comprehensive patient education, open interdisciplinary communication, and targeted research-based interventions. This helps to assure the most complete and rapid recovery possible while making the patient in charge of their own care.

Services

Physical therapy services provided at Black Diamond PT:

  • Postoperative management
Recovering from orthopedic surgery can be a confusing undertaking. Once you have made the investment of time, money, and (unfortunately) pain into a surgical procedure, most patients want to make sure that they make the most of it! Optimal rehab is a perfect balance between too much and too little.
  • Conservative injury management
Not every injury requires a surgeon. As a matter of fact, most orthopedic injuries are minor and can be managed conservatively. The physical therapists at Black Diamond PT can help you assess your current situation and provide guidance.
  • One-time visit
In reality, most conditions are benign and do not require a visit to any healthcare provider. However, if you are still concerned, we are happy to take a quick look. If we see something that we feel is more serious, we will make a referral for you to see the appropriate provider for a complete workup. Even after the referral, we can assist by overseeing the management of your case.
  • Return to Play Testing
When you are trying to get back to your recreational activities or competitive sports, let us test your status with objective, validated testing with our isokinetic dynamometer and force plates.
  • Pelvic health
Address specific pelvic issues such as pain with intercourse (dyspareunia), vaginismus, vulvodynia, urge or stress incontinence (leaking), urinary frequency, constipation, pre- or post-natal care, and low back pain.

Your First Visit

When you arrive for your first visit, make sure that you have all of your completed forms with you. If you were unable to download and complete the forms ahead of time, make sure to arrive about 10 minutes early to fill out the paperwork. Also make sure to bring a government issued ID (driver’s license), your insurance card, and your prescription (if required). If you have a co-pay, it is due at the time of your visit. Cash, check, and most major credit cards are accepted.

Our clinic is in a gym setting. Be aware that your comments may be overheard by others in the clinic. If you would like to discuss something with your therapist in strict privacy, please let them know ahead of time so that they may accommodate you. Make sure to wear comfortable clothing that permits easy access to the affected area. For example: If you are coming in for a shoulder evaluation, bring a tank-top or sports bra. If you are coming in for a knee evaluation, bring shorts. You will be able to change into appropriate clothing when you arrive.

We are also a teaching facility. There will often be a student shadowing one of our therapists. If this makes you at all uncomfortable, please let us know and we will make sure to accommodate you.

You will likely be moving around a lot during your session and may become sweaty. For your convenience shower facilities are available. If you wish to use them, make sure to bring a towel and soap/shampoo.
